SDDM Hospital is started in Memory of our father Late Shri Durga Dass Sharma who was a Social worker and Ex Army Officer . The HOSPITAL is being dedicated for the benefit of the ailing community of the region in his remembrance and the cause which he started 20 years back in the form of "Health Mela". From then the management of the hospital has been providing medical care by organizing health and eye camps in the remote parts of the state where good health care facilities are not available. Many leading doctors from GMC Jammu, ASCOMS, Health department and other leading practioners of Jammu appreciated the efforts of management and promised to extend full support for such noble venture

Spread across 12800 sq feet, the institute includes a research center, medical and nursing school. It has 50 beds and over 6 critical care beds with 4 operation theatres catering to over 20 specialties. The hospital is fully air-conditioned and first of its kind in state of Jammu and Kashmir which is equipped to provide multidisciplinary services like Cardiology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, Gastro surgery, beside clinical medicine, obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, General surgery, eye, ENT, and Orthopaedics.
